"I don't do the finance side of my business"
There is no “finance side” of your business. It’s your money. And your money runs through the core of your business.
Everything you do or don't do, every decision you make or don't make, every time you do or don't focus on your pipeline - it shows up in your money.
And when you say you don't “do finance” or you don't understand Finance, that's not true is it?
I mean, you understand if you get paid or not.
You understand if you can pay your bills.
You understand if you can pay for your lifestyle.
What you're really saying is: if I don't own it, the consequences aren't my fault.
And I’ve seen it in hundreds of companies.
Business owners choosing to abdicate (dressed up as delegation!) the one part of their business that determines everything else. Choosing not to get involved because finance feels scary or overwhelming or "not their thing."
But here's the reality you can't afford to ignore:
That "side of your business" says if you're going to have enough money for your future.
That part says if your staff have secure jobs.
That part says if you can pay your tax bill.
That part says if you get to live the life you really want.
So if you've been telling yourself you "don't do finance" - you need to know: you're winging it with your future.
And winging it is a choice that has consequences. For your staff. For your family. For the life you're working so hard to build.
Make 2026 the year you stop winging it. The year you take control.
Have a great week!
